R/Evolve 2013 Narrative Feature 90 min USA English Asian Premiere In Competition Lucas and Lincoln just got engaged. Once gay marriage is legal, Lucas will have it all. However, Lincoln isn’t satisfied. After picking up a radical queer hitchhiker, Raccoon, Lincoln inadvertently enters the world of art and activism. New concepts of freedom and stability are revealed to him, awakening the artist inside him. Billie Rain is a differently-abled writer, activist and filmmaker. S/he grew up in the Washington DC area, spending hir youth being active in movements for social change, including Positive Force, ACT-UP and Riot Grrrl. Years of chronic illness and a rare tumor condition have given hir an amazing sense of groundedness, connection and self-advocacy that fuel hir passion to bring truth, in all its pain and glory, to audiences everywhere. Hir debut feature film Heart Breaks Open (2011) which is part of hir heart trilogy screened at KASHISH 2011.
