CONFLUENCE OF COMMUNITIES

Community Youth Centre

The feelings of loneliness and isolation have increased during the digital era; for young people it is all they know. The project explores how architecture can reinstate the feeling of community as well as integrate locals with visitors in order to bring people from different backgrounds together. The building aims to encourage gatherings and create spaces in which residents and visitors can coexist. The youth centre creates a dialogue between a very formal Berkley Street and a residential area that both neighbour the site. 3

PICTURESQUE MOVEMENT

In Search for Creativity

Lady Emily’s Tower, influenced by the Picturesque movement, was originally built as a painting studio. It was a place to frame the views and enhance the beauty of the landscape. Ten buildings now scattered around the estate carry the same purpose. They are a combination of galleries and painting studios that both create different environments to perceive and create art. Visitors can wander around the estate and fully immerse themselves in each of these ten unique studios and the surrounding nature.

CAMBODIA REMOTE HIDEOUT HUT

Our eco-conscious design of the Remote Hideout Hut is a sustainable, low-maintenance and long-lasting structure. The primary building material is locally-sourced bamboo, which is cost effective, and facilitates the use of local workforce in the construction. Our elevated, openspace design allows for natural wind ventilation, creating an environmentally responsible space.

KIRKLEES CULTURAL HEART

Kirklees Cultural Heart Masterplan proposes a £210 million plan to create a Cultural Heart in Huddersfield Town Centre. The masterplan includes reuse of the 1970s Queensgate Market as a library and foodhall, a gallery, a museum and a life museic venue as well as a park. I worked on the library and food hall building.
