Output This refers to how one communicates the thoughts and ideas in the mind to the outside. This includes both writing and speaking. Creative writing just involves writing a story out of one's own creativity. This test on how well a student is able to articulate his thought into words. Functional writing on the other hand is far much more important. A student should know the different types of formal writings e.g. reports, synopsis, minutes et cetera, know the different formats and protocol that one should follow and know how to write it down. is very fundamental as it is the fastest way to expressing yourself to people. The student must be able to speak fluently, knowing the right order of words and that sentences constructed are grammatically accepted. A prowess in vocabulary use is also evident here. Input Input refers to how the mind receives communication from the outside. Listening is a direct reciprocal of speaking. One should be able to hear what another is saying in the language. There is also the aspect of understanding what the other person has said and being able to interpret the information. Reading is also a direct reciprocal of writing. One should be able to read content written in different formats and likewise be able to understand it, if needed interpret it.
