Church Of Christ February 28, 2010 Happy Birthday to You To Jesus be True May God’s richest Blessings Abide upon You!

Anniversary: Feb. 17: Russ & Lorie, 20yrs.

Welcome Home Group-Heart of the Fighter This is the series we are using to encourage and guide our time together. We invite you and your friends to join us. Each week we have a short article on facebook and later in the week a letter from Landon Saunders, the presenter for the series. It will give you everyday help to just keep on keeping on each day. You will also get to know Jesus better and the words he spoke for us to use in our daily lives. We look forward to sharing this time with each of you. In the love of Christ, Dennis Quilliams Heart Surviving – Go Beyond failure to accomplish your purpose

…Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:12-14

“I’ve failed a lot.” Who said that? It could have been Paul, who calls himself the chief of sinners. It could have been Peter, who denied his master at the most critical moment in history. It could have been Moses, when he lost it at the rock. It could have been David, when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband killed. It could have been Abraham, when he lied to Abimelech, or when he compromised his heritage with Hagar. It could have been me. It could have been you. “I’ve failed a lot.” Those words most certainly are on the lips of every real fighter in this world. No real fighter is afraid to admit failure. What separates the fighter from all the rest is courage to go on and not yield to the temptation to head for the sidelines where neither victory nor defeat is possible. Are you sitting there in the rubble of your imperfections? Well, if you are, it’s time to get up and to go on..for you’ve been given the heart of the fighter.
