ROCK MUSIC Rock or Rock & Roll, like it was originally called, is perhaps the most important music style of the last century. Mainly because of the effect it caused on the world and people everywhere. Looked since the beginning as a dangerous and rebellious style of music, it gave the music we listened to a new life and energy.

Rock has been a very important part of our lives. It has changed with time and has been the soundtrack for the newer generations. Without rock, one can only imagine how life would be. Every single style of music that exists today has to thank Rock for almost everything, since it has been a major influence on singers and songwriters everywhere.

Rock is now everywhere, and has earned its place on the hearts and minds of everyone. Musically, rock has centered around the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with bass guitar and drums. Since the term rock began to be used in preference to rock and roll from the mid 1960s, it has often been contrasted with pop music, with which it has shared many characteristics. Many can say that Rock is more driven towards the talent of the musician than in Pop music.

REGGAE Reggae music is a music style developed in Jamaica during the 1960s, it is the union of several musical styles that were popular in the island at that time. Rock-steady, ska, blues and soul music. Normally developed as a slow sounding style of music, it is one of the most popular music styles in the world. The name reggae is a term adopted by the original musician because it sounded like the sound made by the guitar when they were playing.

The music was used as a sense to express peace and spirituality in the Caribbean region and through out the Islands. The popularity of the music style is also closely linked to the rastafari movement, a religious movement that was created in Jamaica. The sound of reggae has been a source of inspiration and influence for many other styles of music. The biggest reggae artist of all times is Bob Marley, considered one of the 20th century’s most important cultural figures, because of his music and his message of equality and peace.

Currently, reggae has progressed onto several different types of music styles, some are more upbeat and inclined to make people dance while others are more experimental on their sound.
