JDRF Walks for the Cure Springfield, IL- As part of the ongoing research to cure diabetes, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be putting on a walk in Springfield to help raise money for diabetes research. JDRF puts on multiple walks all over the country to help raise money for diabetes research. The walk will be on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 9 A.M. in Washington Park. Be there at 8 A.M. to register if you did not register ahead of time. These walks draw everyone together to join in a healthy activity for a worthy cause, raising money to help invent better treatments and fund research to find a cure for diabetes. JDRF funds more type 1 diabetes research worldwide than any other charity. More than 80 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. JDRF is number one in diabetes research. They have many volunteers that help put on diabetes camps for young kids and offer support groups for older diabetes sufferers and parents. JDRF also puts on other events to help raise money for research like galas, rides, and various other fundraisers. For more information you can call (800) 533-CURE (2873) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org JDRF’s mission has been constant since it was founded four decades ago: to find a cure for type 1 diabetes through the support of research. Until a cure is found, JDRF is also committed to working tirelessly to develop new and better treatments to improve the lives of people who have type 1 diabetes and keep them as healthy as possible.
