Holistic Health Primer – Part 2: Aromatherapy, Energy Healing and Homeopathy This course will introduce three popular holistic health modalities and contrast their applications. When first entering the realm of “complementary medicine,” it can be overwhelming to decipher what practice may be best suited for your needs. We will explore the basic concepts of these modalities as well as simple and easy applications for beginners. Many countries integrate these practices in their healthcare systems. NEW! Legal and Ethical Issues in Imaging This seminar will address ethics, law, risk management and safety in diagnostic imaging and therapeutic radiology. Topics will include legal principles of the daily practice of medical imaging, the practice standards for medical imaging and radiation therapy, the basic applied ethics principles, and how imaging professionals may modify practice to come into compliance with these professional and legal standards. They include hidden psychiatric disorders, unresolved trauma, unresolved grief, and process addictions, including sex, relationships, romance, gambling, shopping, and religion. Our instructor Ann Obergfell

Ann Obergfell presents at the local, state and national level on the subjects of law, ethics and practice standards in medical imaging. Obergfell is the interim dean, professor and chair of the department of radiography at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, in Indiana. Prior to working for IPFW, Obergfell was dean of health sciences at St. Catharine College in St. Catharine, Ky. from 1999-2010. She was a faculty member and coordinator of clinical education in radiography in the School of Allied Health Sciences at the University of Louisville from 1984-1999. Obergfell is a graduate of the Parkview Hospital School of Radiography and Indiana University Fort Wayne with an Associate of Science degree in radiologic technology. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health service management from Indiana University – Indianapolis and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville. She also is a member of the board of trustees of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
