AAMOD AT SHOGHI
YOU ALWAYS WANTED A RED-ROOFED COTTAGE IN THE HILLS. IT IS TIME YOU FOUND ONE. Shoghi is a tiny piece of paradise tucked away on NH 22, thirteen kilometers short of Shimla. As the car stops, you'll find yourself on a gentle hill slope, under a thick cover of oak and pine trees. Welcome to Aamod at Shoghi. As you walk towards your cottage, you'll notice a certain design philosophy. Anything man-made at Aamod perfectly blends in with nature. In fact, not a single tree was chopped when the property was built. And that's incredible. So, when you see a cottage, you know it's on a natural clearing. In your private spacious sit-out, sink into a comfortable chair. Look around and sip your welcome drink. The silence is blissful. You can hear the crisp mountain air criss-crossing its way through the trees carrying an occasional chirping of a bird at a distance. Is this nirvana, you may ask?
SHOGHI STAY Nestled on a gentle slope, the resort has little cottages, both single and double. If you are travelling in a group, opt for a cottage cluster for proximity. Each cottage has a sit-out area where you can relax with a book or a drink. A mix of prefab and pine structures, the cottages blend in with the environment beautifully. The interiors have a nice contemporary feel. With a comfortable bed and a cozy sitting area, it's luxury at 2000 metres above sea level. To make your stay all the more exciting, there's a DVD library where you get an excellent assortment of both Hollywood and Bollywood blockbusters. What's more, the resort has viewing decks, trails, recreation zones, adventure areas, a lounge with books and a host of indoor games to keep you busy. And since, the effort is to usher in a green philosophy around the resort, there are plenty of activities that are planned every day. From planting a sapling to informative sessions on local flora and fauna, everything is designed to make your stay an enriching experience.
SHOGHI EXPLORE What differentiates Aamod from other resorts is the plethora of activities around. To start with, there is an adventure zone inside the resort where you can try your hand at Burma Bridge, Flying Fox, Monkey Crawl and a host of other high-adrenaline activities. Also, ten minutes from the resort, there is a rock climbing and rappelling site which you may explore. SHOGHI FEAST Our restaurant, The Colonial, bears a Raj hangover, reminding you of the love the British had for 'Simla,' the summer capital. It has an excellent continental menu and an equally delightful Indian cuisine. And just in case you like to savour local delights, the chef will be more than happy to dish out a typical Himachali fare. What's more, every week, we have different themes coupled with special cuisine nights. The interesting part of Aamod at Shoghi is a new concept in dining. Since the resort is quite spread out, it gives you the opportunity to dine anywhere you wish. Which means it's as simple as 'you find a place, we set up a table.' Fascinating, isn't it?

SHOGHI UNWIND The Spa at Aamod is called Sublime. It's a little heaven made out of nature - bamboo, stone and most importantly crisp, clean air.
