Key member of the Product Development team, and for the last 2 years, the sole Marketing resource for the LibreDigital branch handling Product Marketing Manager duties as well as all marketing initiatives. Spearheading the LibreDigital rebrand, creating updated look, feel, messaging and videos to match our image to our status as a digital leader. Serve as a resident market expert, keeping apprised of market news and advising on business development strategy based on regular industry, client and competitor analysis (SWOT). Conducting and presenting both regular monthly analysis reports as well as yearly assessments on both the book and magazine industries. Design product roadmaps to fit the needs of our high profile clientele and their global branches, which includes Apple, Amazon, Google, Barnes&Noble, HarperCollins, Harlequin, Hachette, Simon&Schuster, Scholastic as well as many other marketplace and publishing leaders Prior to acquisition, helped to successfully launch “Netflix for eBooks” beta, signing on 3 of the 6 major publishers just before LibreDigital was successfully sold to RR Donnelley for our B2B services and the initiative was tabled due to the higher risk nature of the project. Manage and design all customer-facing UX, promotion and sales tools including news segments for local NBC news, Social Media Promotions with major authors, marketplaces and professional poker players, our HTML5 Newsreader and eBook readers, Apple Publisher Portal and New Harvest System. Created iBookstore merchandising program to meet Apple’s demand for a curated list titles list from our independent publishing clientele. Allows LibreDigital to quickly sift through thousands titles to find candidates that meet apple’s extensive standards. Apple was extremely pleased & has featured suggestions in their iBookstore.


February 2008 –August 2010

Helped to excel company from a distant unknown to #1 independent eBookstore in the Americas & Europe on little to no marketing budget. Moved company from Pg. 8 to Pg.1 for “eBooks” in Google search through redesign & concentrated marketing efforts. Handled all direct tactical outbound marketing activity ranging from social media moderation initiatives to major promotions including the 2009 Daytime Emmy Awards that increased our brand trust & awareness. Launched promotions using 22 top authors from the 2009 Writer’s Conference, which led to 64,000 additional site visits with an 18% conversion to revenue, generating more than 12,000 transactions over the following 38 days. Developed partnerships & promotions with major publishers (including Harlequin & Penguin), popular bloggers, bestselling authors & more. Built brand & revenue that resulted in BooksOnBoard being the third largest brand position in eBooks overall, behind Amazon & Barnes & Noble by March 2010. Pioneered social marketing for eBook stores, launching promotions on Twitter, Facebook & Tumbler. First big success was a joint promotion with author Christine Feehan in September 2009 where I leveraged social networks to sell over 1,500 of her titles in a few days – a huge number for eBooks at the time. Recruited, managed & trained up to 16 people on a team at a time, including interns & part-timers for daily social networking, merchandizing, blogging & other promotional activities, while also taking a hands-on approach, to meet the needs of our expanding business & allowing us to grow without breaks in quality. Designed & directed creation of all marketing materials & images for the website update (implemented in 2011) & mailers. Improved professional quality helped to grow the mailer click-through rate & overall mailer opens. In a survey of just over 10,000 random customers, 94% said the site was a significant improvement over the prior. This helped company credibility & made us a go-to source for book recommendations, allowing us to influence customer transactions through banners & promotions – gaining us valuable affiliate programs & partnerships.

Recruited/trained a team in under 24 hours & managed them for a week for DirectTV filming of popular acts at SXSW in 2008 & 2009, including Katy Perry, the Hanson Brothers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Ben Harper & others.
