Mathias Posch, Presidente de International Conference Services Ltd., fue electo Presidente de IAPCO en la Asamblea General Anual de mayor participación hasta el momento realizada en febrero en Tokio, asumiendo el lugar del Presidente saliente Jan Tonkin, por un período de dos años.
Mathias Posch, President of International Conference Services Ltd, was elected IAPCO President at the largest-ever IAPCO Annual General Assembly in Tokyo in February and takes over from outgoing President Jan Tonkin for a two-year term.
“Meeting Quality –es más que un eslógan, es una responsabilidad-, hacia nuestros clientes, hacia nuestros socios, hacia cada uno y la industria en general”, dijo Mathias en su primer mensaje como Presidente de IAPCO. “La calidad es más que una lista de chequeo, es un compromiso permanente para el avance de nuestras habilidades y para compartir entre todos nuestras buenas prácticas-, va más allá de nuestra membresía y nos da la oportunidad de que nuestra industria avance y, de hecho, liderarla”. Su presidencia y su compromiso hacia el sector Latinoamericano de OPC’s se alía con la reciente firma del acuerdo de colaboración entre IAPCO y el Buró de Convenciones y Visitantes de Río. Estratégicamente, IAPCO se enfoca en axpandir su alcance en Sud América, luego de haber establecido alianzas en Europa, Norte América, Asia, Medio oriente y Australasia. Río completa la lista de socios globales estratégicos de IAPCO, y juntos podrán crear plataformas de alta calidad para el intercambio de conocimientos, negocios y comprensión cultural. “Tener al Rio CVB como miembro de IAPCO es extremadamente importante para Rio de Janeiro, no solo por el hecho que la ciudad es la única representante de América Latina, sino también por el rango exclusivo de oportunidades y ventajas que esta sociedad nos brinda para mostrar la infraestructura única que

‘Meeting Quality – is more than just a tagline, it is a responsibility – to our clients, to our partners, to each other as well as the industry at large’, says Mathias in his first IAPCO presidential message. ‘Quality, is more than just a check list, it is an ongoing commitment to furthering our abilities and to sharing our best practices with each other – it goes way beyond our membership and it gives us the opportunity to move our industry forward and, in fact, to lead it.’ His presidency, and his commitment to focus on the Latin American PCO sector, ties in with the recent signing of a collaboration partnership agreement between IAPCO and the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau Strategically, IAPCO is focussing on expanding its outreach in South America, having established destination partnerships in Europe, North America, Asia, Middle East and Australasia. Rio completes IAPCO’s stable of exclusive global partnerships, and together they are able to create high quality platforms for the exchange of knowledge, business and cultural understanding, “Having the Rio CVB as a member of IAPCO is extremely important for Rio de Janeiro, not just for the fact that the city is the only representative in Latin America, but also for the exclusive range of opportunities and advantages that this partnership provides us, to showcase the unique congress and events infrastructure that city has.
