Mill 600 Pulaski

Senior Exit Studio - Spring 2014

Located in the once abandoned Southern Cotton Oil building within the historic Pulaski Heights neighborhood just northwest of downtown Athens, Mill 600 Pulaski is a restaurant, local market, and coffee shop. The Pulaski Heights neighborhood developed around the extensive amount of industry once located in the area in the early 1900s. Shinjuku Hotel

Studio V - Fall 2013

Using the mandarin duck and the concept of an unlikely pair as inspiration, both the main hotel floors and the guest rooms of The Shinjuku Hotel & Spa contain rich jewel-tone colors and contrasting elements such as warm woods, sleek metals, and bold pattern combinations. The spa takes a more tranquil feel from the female mandarin duck, utilizing more neutral and pastel colors.

Cottage Residence

Studio II - Spring 2012

The cottage’s entry, living room, and kitchen plan allow for adequate social space, while the bedroom is tucked behind the stairway space for added privacy. The bathroom, though not an on-suite, is in close proximity to the bedroom for convenience but separate to keep the public from intruding into private space. The back porch also allows for additional living and eating space.

Project Objective: To design a residential project, no more than 900 square feet with a full basement and 6-8 feet deep porch and to create a short-set of working drawings. Project Duration: 11 weeks Project Type: Solo
