Further decodification of Cerda’s proposal reveals that the geometric operations which transformed the pure superimposed grid were primarily disciplined by exiting trade routes and other paths of access, going back to the medieval city or the roman city. The diagram on the left identifies the edges and routes that gave Cerda the rules to transform the superimposed grid.
