Fil-HR UAE holds 3rd General Assembly Mahigit 20 na miyembro ng Filipino Human Resources Practitoners’ Association - UAE or mas kilalang Fil-HR UAE ang masayang dumalo sa kanilang ikatlong General Assembly sa Dubai nitong nakaraang Biyernes. Ang kalahating araw na pagtitipon ay nahati sa dalawang bahagi kung saan isa munang PR & Media Workshop ang ginanap bago pinag usapan ang mga bagay na me kinalaman sa grupo. Ang unang guest speaker sa workshop ay isa sa mga batikang Photographer sa UAE na si Paulo Vecina. Si Ginoong Vecina ay nagbigay ng “Appreciation and Understanding of Photo Journalism.” Nasundan ito ng lecture on “Publicity as a PR Tool” na binigay naman ng kilalang PR consultant at Kabayan Weekly columnist na si Art los Baños. Ang pang huling lecture ay binigay ni Kabayan Weekly Managing Editor na si Ria Mendoza tungkol sa “Feature Writing.” Ayon sa Chairman ng PR & Com-
munications Committee ng grupo na si Jessielyn Quintilla, ang workshop ay ginawa para mabigyan ang mga miyembro ng basic knowledge sa mga nasabing topics hindi lamang para ma-enganyo sila sa pag contribute sa kanilang website kung hindi upang maturuan din sila kung paano makisalamuha sa miyembro ng media at publiko habang nag pro-promote ng kanilang organization. Ang regular workshop activity ng Fil-HR UAE ay sumasangayon sa vision ng grupo na mag provide ng valuable and transferrable skills sa mga miyembro para magamit nila ito sa kasalukuyang trabaho at maging sa pang araw araw na buhay. Matapos ang workshop pinag usapan naman ang amendments ng Constitution and By-Laws kasama na ang Job Fair sa darating na Hunyo 10, Election at pagpapakilala sa mga bagong miyembro at area directors. Sa kasalukuyan mayroon nang mahigit na 80 na HR practitoners na miyembro ang grupo sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng UAE.

Induction of new Members and Associate Members (Non-CPA)
The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Dubai Chapter held its Third General Assembly and Technical Session on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The event was attended by 130 PICPAns and Associate Members from all over Dubai and Northern Emirates. Richard Lim and Bernie Landicho, both from Ernst & Young, Dubai, delivered the lecture-updates as part of the professional development program of the Chapter. Also during the meeting, 49 new CPAs and Associate members were inducted. This brings the total strength of the Chapter to about 800 members spread across various companies in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. PICPA Dubai was formed in
1994 as an organization of Filipino accounting and finance professionals. Today it continues with its commitment of serving and enhancing the integrity of accountancy profession in the UAE. Its president Atty. Dexter Destajo welcomes and encourages all Filipino accounting professionals in Dubai to join and participate in the various programs of the Chapter.
