101 Kitchenaid Mixer Reviews Baking is one of my many passions in life. All bakers know that there are 2 main tools in baking, oven and mixer. A good oven and a good mixer come in really handy. My “baking equipment” started with hand mixer, I mean the manual mixer. After a while, hand mixing is just too tiring. Imagine beat an egg mixture until it is hardened with hand. it takes about 20 minutes minimum and non-stop whipping. Very soon I get myself the first hand mixer from Panasonic. When it doesn’t cope, I switch to stand mixer. This is when I come across the brand like Kitchenaid, Cuisinart and etc. Well, I do not have a lot of budget to try so I have to make sure that I have a good and long durable mixer. As technologies evolved, more and more brands of mixer have been introduced to cater many needs of a professional baker. How to choose a good mixer? In fact, for a mixer to function well, there are a few factors we need to know: 1. Powerful and Efficient motor. When comes to motor, efficiency of the motor is important. 175 watt will be the minimum requirement but higher wattage is preferred. Of course high wattage comes with higher price. For those who like to bake bread, the motor should be strong enough to mix for dough. 2. Quality and durable Brand. It is important to choose a reputable and trustworthy brand especially when you bake very frequently. There is no point wasting money to buy a cheap mixer but spoilt after 3 months. In fact a good mixer, which can be used for very long time, can save you a lot of money.
3. Speed of mixing Try to choose the model with no fewer than 6 speeds. Preferable mixer with slow start feature which can reduce spattering. 4. Large Mixing Bowl. This is important when you need to prepare large portion of cake or bread for Christmas. The mixing bowls comes in stainless steel or glass. Some will prefer glass as it is also be used with microware. 5. Ease of clean up. Cleaning may seen as a small problem but it can be annoying. Check if the beater release are functioning well and if the seams or buttons are places well, not to accumulate food. Now we know the criteria we should look for when we buy a mixer, you can choose the right mixer for you and your family. Happy shopping and have a good time baking for your friends and family!
