K-State Women’s Basketball upset George Washington to advance to the second round of the 2016 NCAA tournament.

The National Leadership Circle (NLC) is the comprehensive leadership annual giving program of the Ahearn Fund, K-State’s National Fund for StudentAthlete Excellence. In appreciation for their annual impact on providing A World-Class Student-Athlete Experience, NLC members are recognized with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond levels and receive special benefits accordingly. The national brand of K-State Athletics is growing and the Ahearn Fund

continues to guide significant resources to expand this connection so that more can join in this shared vision of success. This level of annual commitment from NLC members helps to fund studentathlete scholarships, increase academic support, enhance sports medicine practices, recruit and retain studentathletes and coaches from all over the world and provide direct funds for capital improvements to the K-State Athletics complex.

VISION A MODEL INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETIC PROGRAM.

GOALS • A world-class student-athlete experience. • Value to the university, community and state. • Integrity and transparency in matters of ethics, finance and NCAA compliance. • Championship athletic performances. • The best fan experience in the Big 12.

“K-State’s ability to compete in the Big 12 and nationally hinges on many factors, not the least of which is private support at a leadership level. Ahearn Fund members in the National Leadership Circle play instrumental roles in providing scholarships, sports medicine, academic support and other services that directly benefit Wildcat student-athletes while also funding Kansas State’s margin of excellence through strategic enhancements such as facility improvements and coaches’ salaries.” John & Mary Lawrence Currie NLC Bronze Level Members

Since its formation in fall of 2009, the National Leadership Circle (NLC) of the Ahearn Fund has seen considerable growth. Not only has membership increased, but the percentage of dollars contributed annually by NLC members has grown substantially each year. The NLC was established with just over 180 members and since then has seen the following consistent growth: JUNE

MISSION

To promote the message of K-State Athletics to current members of Kansas State University alumni, friends and business partners, that growing philanthropic support is vital to the continued efforts of providing A World-Class Student-Athlete Experience and turning in Championship Athletic Performances.

Being part of the National Leadership Circle of the Ahearn Fund is our way of supporting the efforts of the athletics department and the coaches and student-athletes that represent K-State. While living in Chicago, the Ahearn Fund’s NLC provided us a way to become more connected to K-State Athletics. We currently live in Manhattan and enjoy more opportunities to cheer on the Cats and participate in NLC and other athletic department events. We are proud to be part of this group that is making a difference for K-State Athletics. JAYSON & LIBBY CYR, Manhattan, KS Bronze Level

Supporting the Ahearn Fund helps to give students the opportunity to grow as athletes and develop life skills that they may not have had the opportunity to do so otherwise. The Ahearn Fund allows for so many student-athletes to live out their dreams. MICHAEL & KAREN PESTINGER, Beloit, KS Silver Level

In February 2010, the university launched an ambitious planning initiative with the visionary goal to be recognized as a Top 50 Public Research University by 2025. Building on our collective history as a public land-grant institution, we embarked on a planning process that was inclusive and exciting. With broad involvement, K-Staters worked together to craft our future.
