A Letter from the LTG
Message from the Editor
Hello Ninja Turtles!
We’ve accomplished a lot over the summer! We’ve raised approximately $1200 for PTP through car washes, pie-ings, and bowling fundraisers, and we’re on track to raise almost $2000 by Fall Rally! I’m so proud of everyone and how far we’ve come since the beginning. We’ve had more active schools, and I am looking forward to meeting all you new members that have joined us since the beginning of the year! I hope school has been treating you well, and you’re keeping up in all your studies. Take lots of breaks, don’t stress out, and keep on being successful!
November’s here already?!
Love you all.
I know seniors are crazy busy with college apps right now (blehh I’m dying here), but to those of you who have the time. VOLUNTEER!! And submit me materials! (Thanks!) As the days grow colder, make sure to enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate. (:
Love, Christine RTC SWAG: LTG Jeffrey Xiong, outfitted in a I-meanbusiness suit, loves the Region Training Conference!

UNICEF Drive Every October, cute orange boxes with the words TRICK OR TREAT can be seen around schools. These boxes cute any spare cash that goes toward UNICEF. The purpose of the project is to help millions of children in need. The UNICEF Trick or Treat program has been in action for over 60 years. Over $160 million dollars have been
raised so far. In 1950, Rev. Clyde and Mary Emma Allison organized a “kids helping kids” program where children throughout the country Trick-orTreat for UNICEF. In 1970, states and cities all over the country declare Halloween “UNICEF Day.” In 1994, Key Club International begun to work in partnership with UNICEF in order to
raise more funds. By 2010, the program celebrated its 60th anniversary. The UNICEF drive has come a long way since it’s beginning. The next time you see a cute UNICEF box, donate! Every penny counts to helping anyone in need.

RTC–Region Training Conference
On a sweltering Saturday afternoon, Key Clubbers from Region 13 took refuge in the air conditioned lecture halls of Cal Poly Pomona’s educational institution and engaged in a multitude of Key Club workshops and spirit battles. Lieutenant governors held workshops explaining the goals of charities like PTP and the ELIMINATE project, along with teaching clubbers a fancy new cheer (can I get an “oh yeah”?). After small workshops had ended, all the divisions congregated in a single room and battled it out via belting and roaring cheers. Following the spirit battle was a lecture regarding upcoming charity projects, like the ELIMINATE project, and their finer points. The lecture also included a fair discussion about DCON. Lieutenant governors discussed the gist of DCON’s fun and interpersonal nature, including its dances and formal attire.
October DCM During Saturday’s DCM, cabinet members discussed upcoming service hour opportunities and club activities. On October 14th, there was an AIDS Walk LA service opportunity where Key Clubbers trekked the streets of LA to raise money to fight AIDS. On September 29th, Region 13 Key Club’s Regional Training Conference was held at Cal Poly Pomona. And on November 10th, Key Club will have Fall Rally at Six Flags.
