end. It soon became the first day of school and I became occupied with sports and school to visit her. I never saw her after that, and whenever I have time to visit the pool she is never there. I had never mentioned her secret to anybody most likely because they would not believe me. It has been seven months since I saw her and there has not been a day that past where I do not think about her and all the memories we made. She was my only friend, and I lost her. I plan on visiting the pool next summer. Maybe she will be there, but until then I will always have a story of my best friend, the mermaid.
