R
esults of the ACT college entrance exam for the class of 2016 showed Walter Payton College Prep in Chicago posted the highest composite score in the state at 30.1. How did North Shore high schools perform? New Trier High School in Winnetka takes top honors across the board, posting the highest composite score of 27.8, and an English score of 28.3, math score of 27.4, reading score of 28.1 and science score of 26.9. According to a press release from New Trier, the class of 2016’s composite score broke the school record and ranked New Trier among the top schools in the country on the college entrance exam. auren Baker underwent hip surgery earlier this year, and her doctor gave her a 40-day prescription for pain medication. She needed the meds for only three days. “I focused so much on building my core to be strong before surgery that I didn’t need as much pain medicine afterward,” recalls Baker, 37, a Glenview resident who had suffered the pain from playing sports. “Six months after surgery, I’m back to running and boxing.” Baker attributes her fast recovery to the team at Elite Wellness-Highland Park, a quartet of Chris Brady, Matt Gentle, Paul Matthews and Dr. Sunil Pullukat.
