The European Citizenship education coin has two sides, one relating to cognitive development and the other relating to the development of attitudes. There is even reason to believe that of the two sides of the European Citizenship education coin, the attitudinal side is the more important in addressing some of the difficulties of education for citizenship mentioned above, such as the motivation problem.
