A WONDERFUL MAN TAKEN FROM US WAY TOO SOON!

TONY PRESTANDREA

Tony's primary passion in life was his family and his friends with golf coming in a close second. Last year's 2012 Golf Tournament raised over $30,000 in Tony's memory. The success of the tournament was due solely to the many golfers, hole sponsors, donors, and volunteers who generously participated. We are hoping to do even better this year. Tony would not have wanted us to mourn his passing but to live everyday to the fullest. Please keep his life, his laughter, and his memory close to your heart.

All proceeds to support pancreatic cancer research at the Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

"Philanthropic support for the Ruesch Center at the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center provides initial funding for GI cancer research, which is critical for the proof of concept needed to secure NIH funding. Last year, support from the Tony Prestandrea Memorial Golf Tournament allowed us to continue a Phase II clinical study designed to provide vital new treatment options to patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer who have already received and are no longer responding to the standard gemcitabine--based chemotherapy. With your help, we are striving to win the war against pancreas and other GI cancers using innovative tries, molecular medicine, and modern technology." John L. Marshall, MD Associate Director for Clinical Research at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center; Director, The Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers; Chief, Division of Hematology-Oncology for Georgetown University Hospital
