Energy Program Specialist Position Announcement The Vermont Department of Public Service (DPS) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for dynamic and qualified candidates to join its team to advance state energy efficiency policy as an Energy Program Specialist. The DPS has responsibility for providing policy guidance for and oversight of the state’s regulated energy efficiency utilities (EEUs) - Efficiency Vermont and Burlington Electric Department. This Energy Program Specialist position will work in the Planning and Energy Resource Division and assist in managing the activities of each EEU, including development of budgets to acquire cost-effective efficiency resources, establishment of program targets and compensation mechanisms, continual improvement of regulated service delivery structure, advising on program design, and managing an extensive program of formal evaluation and reporting on EEU performance. The Energy Program Specialist position is a multi-level job series. DPS is open to applications for level one and two of this position; ultimate work scope and responsibility will be commensurate with knowledge and experience. For both levels, excellent written and oral communication skills required. Some knowledge of energy efficiency, utility regulation, or related field is also desired.
