To See the Whole Video, Go To - Sharing the Spark Below is a transcription of this video March 18th, 2013, and I just got off the phone with a friend, just having a great conversation on sharing videos and what I am up to and why I’m doing this project. He has taken on a writing project, and doing something similar. I shared my path from writing to videos. If you don’t know, and you haven’t seen my other videos, what I did, basically, is I read the book, “Accidental Genius,” by Mark Levy. I really got into the idea of free writing. The challenge I had with free writing is that I couldn’t actually logistically sit down and write as much as I needed to.
When I need to get an idea out I need to get it out and I need to share and video is the best way to share it because I always have my iPhone with me and especially I am walking quite a bit. I’ve actually increased my walking, so I can share more videos. The process actually goes like this, but anyway, after I started listening to a podcast because I like to wind down a little bit before I head to the office. This is a Joe Rogan podcast and he had Shane Smith from Vice.com, Vice is who he writes for. There were talking about [Cult], it was interesting. They were tongue-in-cheek talking about actually starting a [Cult] and what it takes. What I realized is they were talking about podcasting and sharing messages, so that people have a loose forming idea of principles and directions that we want to go in. It’s not for a particular message; it’s not for furthering any specific cause or furthering any specific religion. There is nothing that has it be restricting. It’s not heading in one direction, and the beautiful thing that he said on the backend, which I loved, really. He says, there is no hierarchy, there is no leadership, everybody just knows what to do. We have got this free society effectively where most of us living in the western world who are seeing this video, you probably live in a free society. There are laws that govern how we are going to operate on a regular basis, but how we are going to think and what we are going to do. It’s great to do that with other people and to work in conjunction with other people. Just to sha ideas, but share ideas with some common beliefs and what this really boils down to is a natural selection when you do this. There is a natural selection,
people who are inclined to do these sorts of things do them and people who aren’t inclined do them don’t do them. They don’t participate and that’s the natural selection process. A lot of people think, who want to head in a similar direction, I do want to say we think the same, but who want to head in the similar direction. I have no idea what I said, through most of this video, but something sparked in me in listening to the podcast and, hopefully, something sparks in new in listening to this video. Thanks a lot.
