There’s got to be a turning point where it’s a lot of this is about me and what I’m going to do and we do this stuff. I think you are your primary audience more than anything else and you speak to yourself, but I think the turning point is when you realize that you’re actually talking to another human being. I do believe that talking to myself and convincing myself is something that makes a difference.
I realize there’s a turning point where I really care about who the person is on the other side and what the message is, and it takes a shedding off of all the levels of skin and working yourself to a place where you’re comfortable in your own skin. That’s a place where you can actually communicate to another human being as opposed to communicating in a way where you’re hiding yourself and you are avoiding other human beings. It’s an interesting position to be in and an interesting point of view. I realize keep on communicating, keep on working on yourself so you can be comfortable in your own skin is what makes the most amount of difference in the world. I work on this all the time. When I get myself triggered to go into places where I’m comfortable or I feel like I wasn’t my real self with somebody, it’s tougher. I think we all go through those ups and downs, but the key is to continue to work and to realize we’re here for a higher purpose and realize we’re here to do something that’s bigger than us all. When you realize that and you know the people love you and you know that there’s something out there that’s going to take of you, whatever you believe in, whatever type of higher power, that’s what makes all the difference in the world.
