To Read the Whole Text, Go To - Acceptance The first thing that I want to talk to you about is acceptance. I got up this morning and I have a commitment to record and share 40 videos over the next 90 days. Thereâ€™re different reasons for doing that but really itâ€™s talking about developing myself personally and communicating in a way that makes a difference for other people. When you hit that plateau the first instinct is to fight it or to flee. The first instinct is either to fight it, to resist it, or to flee and to run.
That’s what most people, most people actually just run and never deal with it but for those people that do is they find, oh I shouldn’t be here and it was so much better yesterday and blah, blah, blah all that stuff. The first thing to do is to accept that hey, this is actually going to come and this is a sign of a good place. Plateau’s come when we hit a level that’s higher than where we were before. That’s the definition of plateau; we’re ascending up a particular level and then we hit a particular place where we stop. We don’t want to be there that long. The fact of the matter is you’re going to be at your plateau point as long as you’re at your plateau point. There are strategies for getting through the plateaus pretty quickly, but accept that you’re actually going to be there for as long as you want and the beautiful thing is if you just keep working through and keep doing what you say that you’re going to do. If you’ve got a big enough commitment you’re going to eventually get out of the plateau. There are ways to get out of there more quickly and Tim Ferris talks about this in his book,The Four Hour Chef. Michael Bernoff is another person, the stuff that he trains on can also work through getting through those plateaus.
We’re not going to talk about specific strategies here but the point is starting off with acceptance at the beginning and accepting that you’re going to be there for a while as opposed to fighting because then you can start dealing with the response so you can move into the other two areas that we’re going to talk about; one is blowing your mind and two is asking questions.
