This year was the first time I volunteered for Team QCP Cheer Section. Overall, I thought the event was very entertaining. My friends and I had to cheer on the people running and encouraging them to continue. It was fun to see people of many different age groups participate in running and it was nice to see how supportive everyone was. The organization of this event even gave us snacks! I would definitely go to more events like this. -Darren Wang

The pool fundraiser was very fun and there were lots of people. I liked it mostly because I was able to play pool with lots of people at different skill levels which allowed me to get better and see the different techniques used to play. Overall, a very good experience with lots of friendly people. -Matthew Siu

AS TO RI A PARK LEAF F ESTIVAL

8

While attending the Astoria Leaf Festival on day 3, me and my fellow key clubbers helped out by using rakes and bags to gather up all the leaves. We gathered up as many leaves as we could and afterward a large portion of the park was clear of leaves. Attending this event was well worth it because I got to contribute to a community while having fun with other key clubbers and was definitely worth attending. Overall this event was engaging and helped me interact with others while making an impact on another community and I would definitely like to help again next year! -Joel Shin

I had a great experience during my attendance at the kidney walk. Although this is my second time attending this event, it was still fun just walking and cooperating with others as a community to spread a message. Also, this time was rather unique for me, as it was one of the few times I wouldn't go with people I usually talk with, so going and talking with others was meaningful as well. Overall, my experiences for the kidney walk was no different from my first time, and it was extremely fun just hanging out with my friends and classmates. -Eric Zhao

NYCRUNS is a group that organizes running events all throughout the five boroughs. Going into it, I wasn't quite sure what to expect since many of the key club events that I had been to involved us marching or running with other participants of the event. however, I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that instead of simply walking or running we would actually be helping the runners in various ways. Some key clubbers were in charge of handing out water, while others were responsible for actively showing the direction of the track to incoming runners - either way, it was a very fulfilling experience as we were met with big smiles and high fives from the runners that encouraged us to keep going, even through the frosty and windy weather. -Vahagn Galumian

NY SO M THANKSGIVING

14

At the NYSOM Thanksgiving, I had a lot of fun. At first, when we arrived, there was free pizza. Then we were given the opportunities to sit down at different sections doing a variety of activities including making figures, dreamcatchers, and also dressing up as different characters. My friends and I decided to dress up as characters from The Wizard of Oz, I was the tin man. There was also hot chocolate, cookies, and cupcakes. After dressing up as the tin man and making dreamcatchers, there was a performance on the stage. Overall, it was pretty fun. -Devin Zhang (right)
