From serving as a board member to stepping into a leadership position, Susan has been actively impacting local, regional, and even national organizations for years. In 2016, she was honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. And if that’s not enough to keep her busy, she’s also an active board member with the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation for Roanoke Valley and a trustee on the board of the North Cross School. Add to this involvement her service as a board member of the United Way of Roanoke Valley, Western Virginia Foundation for the Arts & Sciences, and the Better Business Bureau of Western Virginia, as well as the Virginia Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Council of the American Bankers Association.

From her time as an active member and now a sustaining member, she has been ALL IN for JLRV. Most recently, she served as a member of the JLRV Investment Committee applying her professional skills for the good of the JLRV. Throughout the years her leadership experience and insight have helped make the JLRV better with her involvement. “I really enjoyed my time as an active League member, particularly the work we did to improve our community.” Susan has been ALL IN for the Roanoke Valley through her personal and professional accomplishments. But if you ask her, her very best accomplishments are her family – her husband Lee, children Ryan and Hunter, two stepsons, and her eight grandchildren. We’re thrilled to have Susan and HomeTown Bank in our community.
