PBC Junior Match Play Tournament June 20 – August 12

Definition: In match play the game is played by holes. A hole is won by the side that holes its ball in the fewer strokes. A hole is halved if each side holes out in the same number of strokes. A match is won when one side leads by a number of holes greater than the number remaining to be played. If there is a tie, the players go to hole #1 and play as many holes as are required for a match to be won. Tournament Format: The tournament will be made up of four (4) different age groups (brackets) two divisions, one for boys and one for girls. The field will be limited to the first 32 players in each bracket who Pay and sign up prior to the deadline, no exceptions. The entry fee for the match play is 30 dollars and includes the awards luncheon and prizes for 1st place winners and 2nd place runner ups in each bracket. Locations: Participants will be responsible for booking and playing their matches at the county courses in the area. Each Player will provide his email address, home telephone number and cell telephone number at the time of sign-up. Once signed up, pairings will be done and then emailed to participants with a list of other players emails and phone numbers so they are able to schedule matches. The Rule of (3’s) Three’s: a) Calling Player will make (3) three attempts to contact opponent to schedule a tee time. b) If no response the Calling Player will email Stephen Lyon (Designated “Marshall”) at slyon@donlawgolfacademy.com and furnish: i) when the attempts were made; ii) what numbers and/or email were used to contact the opponent; and iii) dates furnished when he can play. The Calling Player must make these attempts (7) seven days prior to the deadline date. Same goes for the opponent. If the opponent has not received a call 7 days prior to the deadline of the match they must email Stephen Lyon at slyon@donlawgolfacademy.com. Once the marshal had been notified he will make calls to both parties to make sure that the match gets played within the deadline.
