Also featured this year are the Hooper Bay Traditional Dancers. This Yup’ik dance group from southwest Alaska is one of Alaska’s oldest and most popular groups. As part of our mission to bring Alaskans together in the spirit of good will and sharing, the Alaska State Fair will host this unique fashion show. It will provide an opportunity to display the art, innovation and craftsmanship of both traditional and contemporary Alaska Native clothing.

Buddy Days


Save at Fair Gates: Pick up a Coca Cola Buddy Days coupon at Holiday Stations starting August 9 (no purchase required). Turn it in at the Fair Gate and with the purchase of an admission ticket at the Fairgate, receive a second ticket of equal or lesser value free. Save at the Carnival: Buy your tickets to ride and your buddy rides FREE from 12-5 PM (no coupon required to enjoy Buddy Days at the Carnival).


Parking Fees

The fairgrounds are located just an hour’s drive north of Anchorage at mile 40 on the Glenn Highway. The Green Gate serves as a drop-off and pick-up zone. No parking fee is required to access the entrance area to the Green Gate, however, there is a 30 minute parking limit. Access is from the Inner Springer Road at the north end of the fairgrounds.

The family Rest Stop, provided by Alaska Family Services, is a relaxed atmosphere for families with young children. Located in the south end of Raven Hall, it offers a quiet place to breastfeed, change diapers, or simply let the little ones play or rest away from the noise and activity of the Fair. Open during Fair hours.

Daily Schedules

To find out what’s going on each day of the fair, pick up a schedule at kiosks located just inside Fair walk-in gates. Got a smartphone? Download the Alaska App or QR Code Reader from your app store to upload the daily schedule right to your phone! Schedules include a map of the fairgrounds showing the location of venues as well as first aid, restrooms, security and ATMs. All scheduled events subject to change.
