November is National Philanthropy Month and Julien’s Journal highlights some of our local efforts to promote the greater good. Each year, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Tri-State Chapter (AFPGTS) honors donors and volunteers. YAPPERS is made up of about thirty students with the aid of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. Melinda Dalgarn opens our eyes to some of the great things the Jo Davis 4-H group has accomplished. November again gears up with harvest and holiday celebrations. We start with the Merry Millwork Market. What better way to celebrate the culmination of a fruitful growing season than with one of Galena’s most celebrated events: Nouveau Wine Weekend! As we gear up for the holidays, we hope you enjoy reading our November and December issues. Although you can now pick us up FREE on many local newsstands, the Julien’s Journal also make a great gift for those who no longer live near, or want the convenience of delivery to their door every month.
