June 22, 2012 Project Update Since our last update we have made a few changes to our newsletter that we hope everyone enjoys. In regards to the project, we have wrapped up our first round of programming meetings with all of the practices. We have been assembling the information that we received and developing a programming summary which will explain the requested needs/wants of each practice. We would like to thank all of the practice managers and staff for working with us on the scheduling aspect because our needs are taking precious time away from their jobs; we want everyone to know that it is greatly appreciated.

Fun Fact Over the past couple of days everyone has been dealing with the extreme heat in this area, but did you know that the record high in the month of June is 102 degrees? The Grand Rapids area has reached this high twice in history: June 1, 1934 and then again on June 20, 1953. On the other end of the spectrum

We have also been continuing with the due diligence process to get the current PUD rezoned. Just this past Wednesday we submitted a package to the township for review that included phase one site plans, a master campus site plan, building elevation and some photos of 588 E. Lakewood. This submittal is intended to provide a representation of what our intention is with the site and the type of building that will be constructed. The township will review these documents and comment so we know what to expect at the June 26 public hearing. Attached to the end of this newsletter is a copy of the submittal package. Dustin Kuzee Project Manager dkuzee@elzinga-volkers.com

the record low temperature for the Grand Rapids area is 32 degrees on June 4, 1944.

Project Forecast In the upcoming weeks there will be two major project tasks that will occur. The first task is the Township public hearing when the submittal package will be introduced to the community. This is a meeting that is critical to our success because it will be where the rezoning will be recommended. There have been numerous conversations regarding this project and there shouldn’t be an issue with this review, but it will be the first time the public will get to see the concept plans. It will be interesting to hear what the community thinks of the plans. The second task that will start next week is round two of programming meetings. Currently we have the following practices scheduled for a second meeting: Continuing Care Radiology Primary Care and Urgent Care Pediatrics Women’s Health Neurosciences In these meetings we will be reviewing the information that was given in the first meeting as well as sharing potential agencies and needs. After this meeting, we will be one step closer to starting schematic design documents. Along with programming meetings, E&V + IA will be finalizing the Basis of Design in the next couple of weeks. With this document finished, E&V will be able to start doing some budgeting so we can start validating the project’s current budget.
