FROGTOWN DUPLEX The Frogtown Duplex explores the central themes of thick versus thin and subtraction versus addition in generating form and interiority. The building is composed of two homes with double skins, one rectilinear for a renter and one curved for a homeowner. Using two disparate logics of form-finding I sought to examine how these two homes could juxtapose each other and work together to form unique methods of habitation. SCI-Arc, Spring 2018

DOORKNOBS We aimed to apply the iconic details within Banca Popolare di Verona by Carlo Scarpa to our own intervention. From this we created Doorknobs, a series of products made for the 2018 consumer, where he or she assembles his or her own product through a combination of Scarpa details. SCI-Arc, Fall 2017

HYDE PARK LIBRARY The conception of Hyde Park Library revolved around the idea of how form and space can inform program and vice versa. Beginning from explorations of form based on Tony Smith’s sculpture Smoke, the process culminated in a library program rooted in geometric exploration. SCI-Arc, Fall 2017

LETTERFORM In Letterform, I documented and extruded and combined two different letterforms to create a whole new form. In this project I wanted to explore how the simple process of documentation can allow us to investigate new, exciting forms. SCI-Arc, Spring 2018

CUBE OPERATIONS Using four methods of re-configuring the cube: cut, wilt, merge, and feather, I wanted to explore the forms that could be created from a generic cube and observe its progression. Harvard GSD, Summer 2015

FILM ARCHIVE The goal of this project was to create a communal film archive space that connects Davis Square, Boston and its environs. The project was an exploration on how form can dictate movement through a space. Harvard GSD, Summer 2015

WALL HOUSE 2 This series is a diagrammatic analysis of Wall House 2 by John Hejduk. Through the process I analyzed many aspects of the residence’s formal and programmatic logic, from its grid layout to volumetric assembly of parts. SCI-Arc, Spring 2018

JIGS In this exercise, I wanted to create a series of diagrammatic instructions that any consumer could use to create a complex form. This project explores the process of documentation and illustration. The goal of the project was to create a series of construction drawings illustrating a complex form-making process from start to finish. SCI-Arc, Fall 2017

GENERAL NOTES

CUT 1 OF 7 Instructions: 1. Place jig on sled on dowel 1 2. Place stock material using dowels 1C-1F 3. Rotate jig and stock material 4. Stop once jig hits dowel 1B 5. Discard cut off material

Scale: 1’-0” = 1/2” Stock: MDF 1” x 4.5” x 3.75” Tool: FS Bandsaw
