Julia Lynx is a Canadian singer songwriter based in Canmore, Alberta. Her emotional depth as a performer coupled with pure honey vocals and a clear sparkling tone grab the audience instantly. Influenced by the soulful sounds of the sixties, Julia’s songs carry a soothing nostalgia and are infused with a contemporary folk pop edge. Julia’s debut album Wild Patience is the fresh and catchy result of her collaborative sessions with producer and award winning multiinstrumentalist Marc Atkinson (Marc Atkinson Trio, The Bills). The two joined creative forces at Marc’s Barn Studio on Hornby Island, BC this past year. Lynx was floored by Atkinson’s talent the first time she saw him perform so when it came time to choose a producer, he was a natural fit. On stage, Julia has a way of putting the listener at ease. With a mischievous, playful and sensual disposition she invites a closer look into the human depths of love and of the turbulent waters of living in relationship. Her pop-folk ballads echo moments of melancholy and magic, capturing the beauty and simplicity of everyday life. It is no doubt she has a deep rooted connection to the human condition as she sings of the experience of being broken open and of the wild return to wholeness. Julia is a self-confessed nature lover, who is affectionately known as “Julia Doulia” by the families she supports in her part-time role as a birthing doula. As well as facilitating artist retreats set in picturesque and remote locations, Julia has presented workshops at the renowned Banff Centre in the Canadian Rockies. An intrepid roamer, Julia walked 4,300 km over five months along the Pacific Crest Trail, singing her soul each day.
