Everything about art was magical, even now, when I attend galleries I love getting as close as I’m allowed to the painting so I can see each stroke of the brush or medium that was use to create such a beautiful art piece.
How did you get into Graphic Design? I came to Queens College expecting to major in International Business but within a semester of classes I realized it just wasn’t for me, Art has been and always will be my passion. I remember growing up and going to art classes every Saturday. Finally last semester, I decided to minor in Graphic Design and major in Economics (to please my parents).
What’s one of your favorite habits you have? I am obsessed with cleaning, My room has to be clean or I just can concentrate on anything else. Call me crazy!
What are some things that make you really happy? Would you recommend Graphic Going on vacations and and taking adventurous Design for other people? Why / Why not? trips somewhere I’ve never been before. I wouldn’t just recommend it to anyone, I feel like they need to have a passion or a drive for this field or to any art related background in that matter. What are some things that scare you? Haunted houses, Hands down scare me the most. Yet I can’t seem to not go to them once Halloween What do you do for fun? comes around… I’m currently obsessed with going to my kickboxing classes, I go 3 to 4 times a week. It a great way to relieve stress and also get in shape! Other than Do you like to plan things that I love being outdoors, whether its hiking, out in detail or be spontaneous? biking, golfing, or any sport, being outside is It goes both ways for me, I prefer to plan things where you would find me. ahead of time so if something doesn’t work out we can decide to do something spontaneous (Plan B) Do you like traveling? Love traveling! If only I had the time to, This semester I’ve taken on 6 classes and a part-time job so it’s been hard to. But I’ve gone to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Korea, Japan. I really want to visit Thailand and Costa Rica next.
Would you rather live in the country or in the city? I would like to love in the suburbs, but still be close enough to the city… Like living in Queens!
What are some of your major goals in life? Who are some people I’d love to start my own business sometime in the you’d like to meet someday? near future, whether my line of clothing, or some Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Ellen Degeneres, Will Smith, sort of online business I can call my own. just to name a few... If someone asked you to give them a random piece of advice, what would you say? “Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.” -Shawshank Redemption Always have hope, never give up even when you’ve reached your breaking point. Be able to fail and get right back up.
If you could learn one random skill, what would you learn? It’s not really random, but I would love to learn how to play the guitar someday. In general, what do you think about art? I grew up around art since I was little, I started taking art classes when I was 8 and loved the texture that pencil was able to create on my paper, and the feeling of a brush when it hit my canvas. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Honestly, I wanted to be a famous singer that got to travel the world and sing on every stage... yeah that never happened. Haha.
