The proposal must include housing (minimum 20 units), retail (minimum 10 units) and a public space that is 2/3 of the area of the site (this does not need to be at ground level though). The ambition is to create a new urban typology consisting of a residential/ shopping hybrid driven by ecological performance and landscape.

APARTMENTS

Three different apartment blocks are located on the site. They create a courtyard in the middle that enhances social interaction. The buildings 1 and 2 lay on a podium that contains retail space and offers a private garden on its top.

First stage: experimentation with blocks in order to maximise the solar gain and the good views, while providing a high intimacy to all the apartments.

Second stage: arrangement of the individual units through the union of blocks, offering big, double height outdoor spaces and two storey apartments.

Third stage: establishment of the central core that performs both as the main structure of the buildings and the access to all the apartments.

Result: multy storey apartment blocks.
