The problem is today`s man is so much armed with knowledge that he has stopped paying attention to the important facts. Had we were in Neolithic times and didn`t know about the details of keeping healthy the mistakes won`t have been scrutinized with piercing eyes. But we are not. Since we love thwarting notions it is a matter of immense pleasure for us to kick away the notion of forewarned is forearmed! We know what should be eaten and what shouldn`t be but still blaming on time and officepressure we feed on junk and fast foods. Food taken in morbid condition remain stored in body for two to three days or even more and as such increases the pain and irritation in bowel cycle. It reminds me of a lady colleague of mine in office. As I sit next to her cubicle am a witness of her doings which are sometimes sensible and most of the times unbearable. This woman has a fascination for juices. Twice in a week I find her staying on juices only. If she gets bored she has milk and fruits and calls it her detoxification diet. Now my idea of a detox diet is literally disenchanted by her understanding and I was flabbergasted at her neolearning. Very often she suffers from stomachache, chest pain, vomiting and weakness. She binges coke, caffeine, wafers, chocolates, French fries, icecream, extra cheese and tomato pizza and soda and thinks that her special “detoxdiet” (framed by her) and popping an antacid will repair the damage. It’s saddening to see that her body becomes a canister of undigested food for many days at a stretch. If she is off work for twothree days we understand that the situation has worsened and she is at the mercy of medication. So my team decided that some sense has to be injected to this person. Instead of telling her the do`s and don`ts we prepared a colorful flowchart focusing on acid reflux remedies. always say that if you have to eat well and varied wait for the mercury to descend. There is a strange belief that in winters falling ill is less compared to any other season of the year. I don`t know if this is absolutely true but then there is nothing wrong in playing safe. Treat your taste buds, pamper them but don`t inflate.
