Fertile Ground A monthly, non-curated new works discussion series for emerging or established artists, each performance features 6 choreographers and is followed by a moderated discussion over wine & cheese with Green Spaceâ€™s Artistic Director, Valerie Green. Sunday Performances 7:00pm | Tickets: $10 GREEN SPACE BLOOMS A 4-night dance festival featuring a different nightly line-up of choreographers presenting exciting and diverse genres of new work, each evening concludes with a reception featuring musical guests honoring the many ethnic communities of Queens. Performances 8:00pm | Tickets: $15 advance/$20 door Take Root Aides in the continued development and performance of new dance work of various aesthetics providing choreographers with an opportunity to be produced in a full or paired evening of work. November 15 & 16th 8pm Take Root with Mei Yamanaka A style fusing ballet, modern/contemporary and hip-hop. Return to the innocence of childhood, as dancers frolic and flee from the overwhelming world of grown ups.
Paired Evening also featuring Angel Chinn How can we find truth and balance in a fast moving digital world? Artists will take an abstract approach, splicing athleticism, sensuality and stillness.

December 13 & 14th 8pm Take Root with Isis Movement A diverse, dynamic full evening of mixed repertory, from old favorites to the premier of â€œUniversalis,â€? featuring an original score by Aaron Bumpus and video art by Jonathan Henry.

January 24 & 25th 8pm Take Root with The Moving Architects A defining work, integrating cultural experiences from international travels. By artistic director Erin Carlisle Norton, guided by the rhythms of sound designer Ian Hatcher.
Paired Evening with Yael Nachajon Often, we contradict our true emotions and struggle to understand ourselves and others. Yael Nachajon sets a magnifying glass against the complex emotional realities that exist within our most mundane, everyday interactions.

February 7 & 8th 8pm Take Root with Teresa Fellion Investigate reactions to sound and explore dualities through movement. This work adopts a voyeuristic point of view into the intimate, idiosyncratic relationships among eight individuals.

Paired with Taylor Donofrio How do we remember? Examines the memory of five different personas and reveals the mysterious roots of our identities. June 6 & 7th 8pm Take Root with Lisa Parra Broaching the themes of substance and representation, original and copy, translation and error, female dancers engage one other, and both words and movement form their ensuing dialogue.

Directions: By Subway (and foot): N (local) Q (express) or 7 to Queensboro Plaza After exiting the train, take the NORTH pedestrian bridge. Once on the street look to your right, you will see Crescent St., turn right on Crescent and walk to 38th Ave. Turn left. Walk one block to 24th street. You will see a red brick four -story building taking up most of the block. The main entrance is mid block. F Train to 21st. Queensbridge After exiting walk north to 38th Ave. and turn right, walk three blocks to 24th St. and turn left, building is on the northwest side of street/main entrance mid block. (About a ten-minute walk from trains.)
About GREEN SPACE: Responding to the need for professional rehearsal space in the New York metro area, Valerie Green and Dance Entropy, Inc., opened Green Space in November 2005. Located in Long Island City, Green Space serves the public by offering discounted services to artists in a spacious 1800 sq. foot facility.
