URBAN CAMPING GREENVILLE, SC S. MAIN & RIVER ST. 4TH YEAR FLUID STUDIO FALL 2016 INSTUCTOR: ROBERT BRUHNS
Urban camping is made easy with this new construction vertical RV hotel in the growing West End of Greenville, South Carolina. RV's or food trucks up to 35 feet can rent a space equipped with water, sewage, power, and Wi-Fi. A restaurant and bar complete the first through third floor and create a communal space for campers to socialize. A large hydraulic scissor lift on rails move the campers into position and a tow bot pulls the campers into the spaces. The goal of the proposal is to create a business that brings RV or tiny house owners into the city and create a dining space that can be successful in downtown Greenville. The brick clad building resembles an early 20th century textile factory often found in the southeast. The Building infills a 100’ X 105’ corner lot.

EL MERCADO DE POBLENOU BARCELONA, SPAIN - SPRING 2016 ARCH 3540 INSTRUCTOR: MIGUEL ROLDAN
Located in the growing Poble Nou neighborhood of Barcelona, My third year studio project infills a 114 m by 114 m block with a market and student housing. Very few blocks in the city allow access into the interior of the block due to increased population density. This project aims to counter this by giving the block back to the public while providing residences above. The ground level has multiple paths entry into the market all leading to a courtyard in the center. I modeled the building off an existing structure on the site that is commonly used as a market roof in Spain. The new models have the same outer dimensions as the old.
