You have a hope and a

future

As we know X Factor contestants Cher, Katie and Rebecca are all battling it out for a future in the music bizz, but do you know that you don’t have to battle it out for your future? All you have to do is trust God.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” Jeremiah 29:11

Do you know that when God created the heavens and the earth, He was thinking of you? He chose you before the foundation of the world (Eph1:4). That’s deep! You are more important to God than planet earth. Far more important to God. You are precious in His sight. Speaking through an old testament prophet God said this, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer29:11). FOLLOWING GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE God has got a plan for your life! But now its up to you to find out what that plan is and to follow it. “Oh that’s hard, that’s too tough”, really? I just read that God has plans to prosper you! I just read that God has plans to give you a hope and future! That’s not tough! Your future is full of His blessing and favour! “Yeah but how will I know it? How can I know His plan?” That’s why He gave us the Bible folks. He gave us the Bible so that we would know His plan, accurately. Through the Bible I know that God has not abandoned humanity, certainly not! Through the Bible I know that He has had a plan of redemption for my life and for your life! He sent His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sin! I know that through the Bible! Without the Bible, I wouldn’t know that! That’s why I respect the Bible! It’s a legal document! It’s full of God’s thoughts and God’s plans! A PROMISE Do you know what a promise is? A promise is to assure somebody that something will certainly happen or be done. When God said, “I have plans” He is saying “Listen, I’m going to make a promise over your life, I am going to assure

you that this will certainly happen.” Let’s read that promise again. “For I know the plans (promises) I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer29:11). Plans to prosper you, plans to protect you, plans to give you a bright future. If you have a dream in your heart, God will help you do it. If you need to get some relationships right, God will help you do it. If you want peace in your heart, God will help you get it. How will you get it? Claim the promise as your own. Like you would claim your jacket back from lost property! It’s yours! It belongs to you. Let’s just look at that thought ‘not to harm you’. We all know that poverty is harmful right? We see it on the charity adverts, we see it in our own communities, we might have even seen it in our bank accounts or in our wallets. Poverty is harmful, it robs people of their basic rights to life. Well when God said His plans are ‘not to harm you’, He meant, “I don’t want you poor”. No way! He has ‘plans to prosper you’. He wants to meet your needs all the time, every time (Phil 4:19). God looks after His children. He’s a good Father! He never wants you to go without. ONLY GOODNESS A lot of people get uptight when you talk about the goodness of God. They say “its too good to be true”. No it’s not folks. It’s bible! “Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.” (Psalm 23:6). I’m staying with the goodness of God, are you?
