Through the Survey on the Future, the Village of Plain City increased the number of responses from residents by 48% compared to the previous survey that was done as part of the 2003 Comprehensive Plan. In addition, the Comprehensive Plan Committee expanded the scope of the survey to Area Residents, meaning residents outside the village but in the Jonathan Alder or other nearby school district, Former Residents, Employees in Plain City or the Jonathan Alder School District, and visitors to Plain City. The vast

majority of surveys were completed online via Survey Monkey. Additional in person opportunities were given at the Village of Plain City office and the Plain City Public Library. Reminders were given via social media, email, local newspapers, fliers, and cards distributed during the 4th of July Parade. Each category of respondents was given a different series of questions. Residents were asked the most in depth questions and visitors the least. *Please note that every respondent did not answer every question.

Resident Quality Of Life

Questions pertaining to ‘Quality of Life’ were featured prominently in the original 2003 Comprehensive Plan Survey and those questions were repeated in the 2016 Survey. Results of the survey show that the majority of responds have a positive view of the quality of life in Plain City By most measures, 2016 respondents believe the quality of life is similar or better than those who responded in 2003

Encourage Future Development? 2003 Future development of residential, industrial,and commercial sites was at a key focus area in both the 2003 and 2016 Survey.
