JOSH IS THE NAME... Innovating design is the aim! My name is Josh Pinard and I’m currently studying BA product design at Nottingham Trent University. I would describe myself as an outgoing, approchable and unorthodox designer. I aspire to become a successful product designer and become an influence to others in the future. I’m still maturing as a designer but for now I’m enjoying the process of my development. I chose Product design because it helps me express who I am and I want to use my skills to the best of my ability which can be shown through the design process. Outside of design, I play field hockey for NTU and umpire up to national standard. This has helped me develop my teamworking and communication skills. I take a great interest in cooking and fine dining.

Development

Final Product The ‘DAMA’ pendant light is inspired from the corset of a Spanish dancer and also from the existing ‘Working Girl’ collection by Deadgood. DAMA, meaning ‘lady’ in Spanish, means to offer a very simplistic, sustainable and sexy aesthetic for social spaces or offices to provide a diffused style light that creates intriguing shadow effects.
