BREAKING THE SILENTS

PATIENCE

Sat 14 Sep: 14:30 ‘THE GENERAL’ Sat 14 Sep: 19:30 ‘STEAMBOAT BILL JR.’

Sat 21 Sep Matinée: 14:30 Sat 21 Sep: 19:30

See Keaton’s classic silent films; The General and Steamboat Bill Jr. as they were originally intended to be seen: with expressive and spellbinding piano in an authentic recreation of early cinema experience. York composer and performer, Kieran White, has faithfully and diligently written a full musical score for both films and will perform this live as you enjoy the on-screen action. Laughs, drama, slapstick, tenderness… it’s all here.

Relaunched in the 1960s at a folk festival at the stately home of the Duke of Dunstable, Patience is a tale of love, passion, groupies, new age travellers and security guards thrown together in an unlikely mix of songs, poetry, intrigue and downright deception. Witness the rivalry of rock stars and managers, the adulation of the ladies and the complete incompetence of Col. Calverley’s security force.
