Within 2 years, we’ve successfully grown revenue with the products which we developed so far and fortunately, the equity of our new brand increased to the extent that our targets easily acquired our products more than some of our local based competitors. Currently via my company Kleensa Promotion and blog posts, I’ve helped over 50 new start-ups grow via her posts & invaluable advisory services coupled with their marketing solutions. READ MY LIFE STORY, MY AUTOBIOGRAPHY! My Full Name is Ebere Josephine Uba and I am a native of Ozubulu Anambra State but based in Lagos State, Nigeria. I was born in 24th August 1992, into a decent middleclass family of Mr Emmanuel Uba. I left what dad wanted for me to what I wanted for myself and faced heartbreaks. You really dumped your high graded 2:1 in #microbiology with your 4:08 CGPA transcript for business career? This is the question almost all my classmates keep asking me. And I would reply: Yes! I left Microbiology to business career, it is simply passion and desire. Nothing Else! Within me I understand that; before then I never knew what I wanted to do since I grew up knowing what my dad wanted from me. He just wanted medical doctor or anything related! I made him proud with my results, got him talking about me in front of friends. I guess; that was what he wanted! My first daughter studied law and my 2nd daughter medicine (and even not microbiology. Smiles!).

During my NYSC, I realized the passion I have for solving business problems & I regretted why I didn't attend business school to study a business course. Well, I kept being on internet studying business basics, models & solving cases 24/7. It was really very tough and to me, business career is a different world all together. Notwithstanding that I failed business consulting job applications numerously, my first emotional heartbreak actually was how a CEO of one Nigeria firm boldly told me "I am a confused person who doesn't know what she want in life". Because a microbiology graduate asked for a business consulting free internship opportunity in his firm. I cried home with tears & consoled myself! Thanks to my friends, Mark Anunandu & Obunadike Echezona Stanley my empowerments then. After one week, I came across a sales development job adverts from Hotels.ng, a hotel booking agency in Nigeria. I found so much interest in that job because their recruitment process considers discipline from other field rather than sales and marketing only. Meanwhile, I scaled through all the online assessment processes and was invited for face to face interview. I needed to land that sales development job but I'm a microbiology graduate. I felt it would sound foolish not to defend my purpose of diverting my career to business, so I prepared extensively for the job interview. During the interview, I felt how astonished they were at the way I related confidently to their tactical questions. Obviously, the questions they called "smart business questions" were only seen as normal to me and what I learnt as basic knowledge (while solving business consulting cases) was a huge one to them. At the end, they termed me over-prepared, over-smart, over-intelligent and over-qualified for the interview as well as the job itself. Meanwhile, instead of being deeply heart-broken, I realized how far I’ve gone acquiring business knowledge to the


extent that I became over-qualified for a sales development graduate position. With this experience, my hope increased and I didn’t give up on pursuing for business career. Few months later, I got recruited into Epoxy Oilserv, a Nigerian known supplier of lubricants & chemicals which started manufacturing these products for its own brands (Epochem and LubeMax), in 2015. I was employed to lead a team of marketing professionals with my major goal being to establish our new brand together with its products in the industrial & institutional markets. Within 2 years, we’ve successfully grown revenue with the products which we developed so far and fortunately, the equity of our new brand increased to the extent that our targets easily acquire our products more than some of our local based competitors. While working at Epoxy Oilserv, I started "The Lady with Focus (TLWF)" as a non-profit women empowerment specifically established to help the ambitious ladies sustain whatever focus they have in life in order to become more productive while meeting up with their life aspirations despite all life challenges they may face. During that period, I encountered a man who had serious issue of low self-esteem of his wife whom he found incapable of believing herself, after listening to him and taking my time to coach him on how he could manage such attitude, I spoke with his wife, offered them my inspirational e-book (Titled: ‘Glow Like Moon…’) and followed them up. After like 4 months, I lost contact with them but surprisingly, they reached out to the after 6 months to show appreciation for helping him change his wife and offered me 150,000 naira which I eventually used to purchase my laptop with what I started my entrepreneurship journey. Lacking real career motivations at Epoxy Oilsev, I started, incorporated and advertised my digital marketing and branding business ‘Kleensa Promotion’ while still working for the company, indeed it was such a challenging period for me. I seriously needed to work on my ambitions because I felt It was time for me to leave and face my startup. Unfortunately, I didn't leave first out of "FEAR". It took me 4 months to advertise my business before I made my first sale. Being carried away with that immense desire to grow my business after my first paid client, I publicly shared my experience on LinkedIn and that was when my story changed. My employer realized I run an extra business, he resigned me from the company! I lost my job. So I focused on my business despite all financial difficulties. In less than 6 months, I've designed about 15 paid websites & corporately partnered with 3 companies for marketing solutions. I am currently self-employed independently managing Kleensa Promotion, a digital marketing business working to build and grow with brands across Nigeria. We have awesome varieties of services and business partners inside and outside Nigeria. We offer a wide range of online marketing, branding & website design and creative design services which enable businesses to gain strong and competitive position in Nigeria Market.
