ARCHITECTURE [ PXParchitecture&Partners ] MONTEBELLO APARTMENTS year: 2014 Residencial Multi Unit Housing

Five-level apartments building, consisting of 5 apartments, one for level that generates a condition of ‘’ floating ‘’ on the site and improves the sense of freedom that is achieved at the level of architectural expression through access to light and natural ventilation, taking advantage of the topographic slope promoting an exceptional panoramic view of the city. It consists of a parking lot in a small square. The elevator is contained in a glass column to improve the open space. It contains wooden latticework as a sunscreen offering a warm integration with the environment. The main entrance is reinforced by a set of vertices that show steel and wood in moments, showing masonry in others depending on the angle.

Construction of a floating structure on an existing old office building that avoids any contact with the latter to maintain its operation throughout the construction process. It consists of a project of commercial offices counting on a meeting room in its center for the realization of corporate meetings, also has a kitchenette to meet the needs of visitors and employees who wish to use it.

The majority of the construction has a crystallization to its front and back views to generate an amplitude of space and a totally landscaping visual. The partitions of the rooms are also glazed to generate a more modern and interesting construction. The roof of this construction consists of a new technology of automatic louvers that are intended for solar protection, leaving light indirectly, equally glass. This material has been used in most of the construction which helps to have a feeling of free and transparent spaces.

East Office wants to promote bioclimatic architecture while reinforcing the idea of​​ sustainable practices such as the retention of rainwater for later use, allowing maximum exposure of daylight while mechanically controlling incident solar radiation through a system of mechanized / automated grids. Challenges of the project: 1. Design, develop and promote new materials with new technologies within a country in full development, which is a high price for the demand of innovation. 2. Design of a “floating” structure due to the location over a highly seismic region. Of heavy and robust type. 3. Create an operational office building where order and tranquility will be generated in the open spaces.

Project located in Catalonia, Barcelona. The Collserola mountain range is a mountainous area and peri-urban park, considered one of the largest metropolitan parks in the world.

VERDual Currently the Tres Turons is an oversized park and little equipped to absorb the needs of the neighbors and tourism that is beginning to expand. The transformation of the three hills into a municipal-scale park will help to balance the distribution of urban green

As an anteroom of the Collserola, it connects multiple doors, they are the main piece in the city of the ecological corridor.

Enriching socio-diversity and adding equipment to respond to human and urban needs, which generate interesting routes and spaces that help resist tourism, through management and a socially transversal communication. The sum of these two diversities taking advantage of its location will make the park the green heart of the city of Barcelona, ​​halfway between Collserola and Montjuïc, with the duality of forest and urban greens. This green approach to the citizenship promoting healthy habitats, offering leisure spaces, quality with nature and an improvement of public transport. Great environmental contribution to reduce CO2 emissions and affect other truly natural spaces.

Collserola-Ciutadella proposes the green and biodiversity plan of Barcelona 2020. A landscape transition space that must be used to improve the city’s biodiversity and help re-naturalize it.

Vegetation strategy Renaturalization and diversification of environments. ]

Main axis of the renaturalization is the search of the potential of diversification of environments and the presence of different stages of vegetation: meadows, scrub, forest, mixed Mediterranean pine and holm oak, quarries, wet, agricultural and urban spaces will coexist in the park of the Three hills generating valuable biodiversity.


Usage Strategy A park equipped; Proximity, city and tourist interest. ]

In the tangency with the city, local facilities and access to the park are located. The horizontal surfaces resulting from the anthropization of the hills (quarries, orchards, demolished buildings ...) are used as spaces of opportunity to integrate uses and equipments to the park. Much of the park remains without specific use to promote the development of nature.

Water Strategy [ A greener park with management of water run-off.


Proper water management with the use of drainage pavements and green ditches will help reduce existing erosion, while allowing the use of rainwater collected through the network of roads and led to different scale railing, accompanied by vegetation, which are projected as points of infiltration water to the land.

Mobility and connectivity strategy [ A park accessible at different scales ]

Public space lounges are generated that connect the surroundings close to the areas of moderate slope. They penetrate the neighborhoods with civic axes and connect with squares, equipment and other surrounding parks. Ecological Connectivity Currently the visuals towards 3 Turons and Collserola departing from the center of the Rambla del Carmel let imagine a privileged geographical position. This visual connection is a great value to preserve, avoiding that it is cut by the new elements or vegetation of the remodeling, but we must be more ambitious and develop the potential. TIMEscape The image of the forest in the mind of man is a perfect green earth with tall trees, but what we are exhibiting here represents a moment captured in its short period of time in all its reality, when it fails.

There is a moment when a very intense sun arrives, the frequent change of this situation represents the characteristics of the earth. We find that the place has its own energy which are all natural elements. We focus on the use of these elements to propose resilience and a sustainable forest to fire out of control. Generate gradient limits between the forest area with the proposal and the existing zones. In addition to having a connection with the Pinus Pinea forests, it is intended to help and increase the existing biodiversity of the site and the creation of several ecotones that are fundamental for wildlife, reducing the human impacts that are found in the area. The place will be a natural space where the flora of the area can be observed while maintaining its conservation and at the same time creating an interaction with the user through a walk that will maintain a game between shadow and light.

Shadows / Light Entries / Refraction / Opening The salt water is found along with the fresh water, this mixture is what originates a hydrographic term called Delta. Naturally, the Delta faces major coastal problems suffering from erosion problems and an increase in sea level due to climate change. The Delta del Llobregat is one of the protected natural areas in Barcelona due to its high biodiversity. The project consists of generating several freshwater marshes, combating the filtration of salt water and recovering a large part of the space that has been lost over time, generating greater natural and important space for biodiversity.




In this part of Rimini there is a valley between two different characteristic rivers that are the use and the Marecchia river, it is also the place where the fresh water irrigates from the mountain to the sea in the form of many small channels. In addition, there are many underground aquifers. Therefore, by understanding that this is a water territory, we proposed to manage freshwater in the best way for people’s uses, defending the pressure of salinity and increasing biodiversity. We proposed to recover and connect the water channels to the two main rivers and, what is more important, we proposed a large flood basin next to the Marecchia river, where it has the greatest vulnerability. At this point, a new proposed basin is also the intersection of rivers, green corridors and gray infrastructures such as the A-14 motorway and the railway.

Rimini is a popular beach and beach tourist destination on a beautiful Adriatic coast. Every summer, it has become an ideal place for mass tourism that goes to beaches and nightclubs that are mainly on the coast, so that the most economic activities are carried out only on the coast, which is causing unsustainable tourism and a declining natural environment.

Focusing on the experiences of passengers and drivers using the A-14 motorway, we use the highway as a tool to represent the Rimini landscape by creating small interventions along the highway that provide opportunities for people to drive more slowly, or in some places where you can get off your cars to perceive the Rimini landscape. In an area where the new flood basin is located, we proposed a rest area for the highway with services that connect the urban park, the historic city, the camping area, the vineyards and bicycle routes that are directly adjacent to the interior areas. This place could be a new image of Rimini’s landscape.

] First, we study how urbanizations grow according to the ancient Roman road and the topography boundary between the slopes and the flat areas along with the movement of today’s tourists. Then the address line appeared, which contains the A-14 motorway and the railway, which are the most popular ways to get to Rimini from Bologna. By making the perception map on the A-14 highway, inspired by Kevin Lynch’s ‘View from the Road’, it helps us to understand that part of the A-14 motorway before reaching the exit to the center of Rimini is a valuable opportunity to help people who travel to Rimini to see another important Rimini landscape that is not just the coast. Driving in this part of the A-14 will take about 15.45 minutes depending on the driving speed before reaching the center of the city of Rimini.
