NEWHALL BE, HARLOW ALISON BROOKES ARCHITECTS THE PRINCIPLE THE DESIGN IS LIGHT, INTELLIGENT USE OF SPACE AND A SENSE OF CONNECTION. BUILT FROM A SYSTEM OF PREFABRICATED TIMBER CASSETTES AVOID THE NEED FOR ROOF TRUSSES, AND ALLOW THE ROOF TO BE ANGLED TO SUPPORT SOLAR PANELS. THE ANGLE OF THE HOUSES, COMBINED WITH THE INTERIOR LAYOUT ALLOWS EACH HOUSE TO CAPTURE LIGHT FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES.

DEVELOPMENT - DEVELOPED SCHEME AS THE PREVIOUS SCHEME DEVELOPED, IT BECAME CLEAR THAT IT WOULD BE MORE EFFICIENT TO HAVE TWO ROWS OF TERRACES RATHER THAN SIX NARROW TERRACES.
