The Concept Inspired by Jimmy Nelson’s extraordinary photographs of the indigenous peoples, we became interested in the idea of contemporary tribes. It occurred to us that the clearly definable youth cultures had become a thing of the past. Contemporary people, are part of much more complex, demographically fluid groups. Groups that merge and overlap, rather than forming in opposition to each other. In order to connect with the consumer, we created our own tribes, communicating the still existing desire to stand out, no matter what crowd you’re from.

The Concept The Majestic SS16 campaign for the New York Yankees tries to capture the feeling of going to a ball game. We have all heard in countless films and TV shows – characters boasting in New York drawl about ‘having tickets for the ballgame’. This was approached with a relaxed, nostalgic, Americana sty le in order to connect with our more fashion led, and less sports led European market. The project afterwards evolved into a number of soft shopfits throughout Milan and Barcelona which echoed this nostalgic tone.

The Concept Blowfish is an American footwear brand. Born out of Malibu Beach, it brings the coveted LA Surf lifestyle to your doorstep. We repositioned this for a British market in order to coincide with the boho fashion trend of the time and compliment the footwear produced by the European licence. Photographed at Carter’s Steam Fair, the shoot aimed to encapsulate the nostalgic mood and lifestyle of the travelling fairs in the 60s and 70s. The POS Design echoes the wooden, weathered, hand-painted signage, typical of this traditional fairground.

The Concept Due to the close geographical proximities of its neighbouring countries and numerous invasions throughout history, Britain is made up of a range of accents. Because of its ever increasing ethnical diversity there are now also becoming modern day influences. Accents are important; they characterise us as individuals, communities and act as marks of our social statuses. This book, written and designed for the British Library, focuses on individuals who’s accents have changed as part of 283 conversations about language, recorded by the BBC in 2005.

The Concept During the nineteenth century, Christmas as we know it took shape. In Germany, the people started bringing in trees from outside and decorating them. Around the same time, Artisans and Engineers were working hand-in-hand to create watches, music boxes and cuckoo clocks. It is from this moment the inspiration for Schuh’s 2016 Christmas Campaign is taken. The outcome is a Christmas scene that runs like clockwork. As product is displayed on tiered rotating trees, a conveyer belt simultaneously drives the falling snowflakes in the background. The result is a mesmerising, whirling, spinning, turning, Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale that tells the story of each shoe from every angle.

The Concept The aim for Schuh AW16 was to create a campaign that enforced Schuh’s existence as the high street’s contemporary, Scottish, footwear store and retailer. Inspired by the environmental artworks of Andy Goldsworthy and Anish Kapoor, we designed sets that intertwined with the natural beauty of their home. This approach allowed the space to be marked and owned without imposing on or detracting from it. The POS and window design for the Oxford Street store saw these images and shoes displayed in a subtly Scottish manner.
