Jordan  Cates   Reflection       For  me,  this  assignment  was  one  I  definitely  was  looking  forward  to.  I  had   never  done  any  sort  of  script/movie  idea  before  in  my  entire  life,  so  it  was  fun  trying   to  come  up  with  ideas.  I  wanted  to  pick  an  idea  that  was  creative  enough  to  make   this  assignment  a  challenge.  I  know  I  hadn’t  ever  written  anything  of  this  sort,  but  I   really  wanted  to  dive  in  head  first  to  see  what  I  could  come  up  with.  My  main  idea   for  this  story  was  to  literally  take  the  song  Summertime  Clothes  by  Animal   Collective  and  make  that  into  a  movie,  or  more  a  short  film.  My  targeted  audience  is   anyone  who  wants  to  watch  a  movie  that  won’t  make  a  whole  lot  of  sense  the  first   time  watching.  I  wanted  the  movie  to  be  open  to  interpretation  and  I  want  the   audience  to  be  able  to  put  their  own  history  and  own  story  to  this.  My  goal  was  to   formulate  a  story  that  could  be  made  into  something  that  would  portray  the   emotion  and  feelings  I  get  when  I  listen  to  the  actual  song.  I  also  wanted  this  movie   to  be  something  that  a  future  director  could  take  and  make  it  creative.    I  purposely   made  the  dialogue  in  small  amounts  because  I  want  this  production  to  be  something   where  the  script  is  open  for  the  actors  to  do  their  own  thing,  the  director  to  have   lots  of  options  with  what  the  actors  do,  and  the  cinematographer  (hopefully   creative)  to  have  the  ability  to  work  with  crazy  angels  without  having  to  focus  on   the  characters  dialogue  talk  sessions.  This  assignment  was  lots  of  fun,  difficult  to  do   because  of  writers  block  and  just  coming  up  with  different  ideas  to  throw  in  there.   But  overall,  this  was  a  great  learning  experience  and  something  I  plan  to  learn  more   about  so  I  can  grow  into  a  better  writer.
