Session Chairs Nathan Angel - Head of Perfumery at Firmenich UK. Nathan Angel joined Firmenich 20 years ago. Headquartered in Geneva, it is the largest, privately owned fragrance and flavour house, originally formed in 1895. Since joining Firmenich, he has had experience in a number of roles across many functions including technical, innovation and sales, supporting many global and local brands both in the UK and around the world. He joined the IFRA UK Executive Committee in 2013 and has been nominated as IFRA UK Chairman from October this year.
Alan Osbiston, CPL Aromas; IFRA UK Technical Chairman Alan Osbiston is IFRA UK’s Chairman of the Technical Advisory Group and has worked for CPL Aromas for 30 years, currently as its Global Technical Director. He joined the industry with BBA in 1972 with subsequent moves to Yardley and Fragrance Oils before CPL Aromas. His career has seen him develop comprehensive analytical skills alongside his knowledge of fragrance & flavour raw materials, including perfumery skills, compounding and application techniques. His work at CPL has involved perfumery, development of quality management systems, and key regulatory roles, representing the company and industry at large. He is co-author of several papers published by the Essential Oils Sub-Committee of the Royal Society of Chemistry concerning the Analysis of Essential Oils by Gas Chromatography. Since 2002 he has been Chairman of IFRA UK’s Technical Advisory Group and over the years has played an active role in many IFRA committees and CTPA Scientific Advisory Group where he was the fragrance expert for a number of years. Alan Osbiston is currently a member of the IFRA Executive Technical Committee that oversees and coordinates the activities of IFRA’s many specialised technical committees, in response to current & emerging issues.
