White House target star Rio MANCHESTER United star Rio Ferdinand has claimed he was the victim of the US security services after his photographs of inside the White House were removed from the internet. The 32-year-old uploaded the pictures onto his Twitter page, but he was left “baffled” after they were quickly removed. When he realised what had happened, he joked that he had been targeted by spy Jack Bauer from television series 24. The Man United squad visited the White House on Thursday as part of a pre-season tour of the USA. As they were shown around the iconic building, Ferdinand wrote: “Whoa.... some1 has got into my phone + taken down my pics off twitter....this is deep...is jack Bauer in Washington?!” One of the removed photographs had been given the caption: “the security needs beefing up here at the White House....!!” The England defender later tweeted: “My pic of the security was £removed quick, rapido, sharpish, fast....they don’t play here in DC...I feel like I’m on 24 right now £baffled”. Photographs of Ferdinand in the state dining room and his teammates eating cookies were allowed to remain online. He also wrote: “feels kinda weird...feel like I’m being watched.”

to do and put my western hat on and go into the western role and the acting role and have a really good laugh,” he said. The town itself is going to cost around £30,000. Some money has come from Government funds – but each structure has been funded in part by members of the reenactment society. In 2009, the society received a £8,175 grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The society also received money from the Tees Valley Community Foundation and the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Fund Community Chest. Ged himself though has poured about £12,000 of his savings into the town’s construction. “At the end of the day it’s like an investment. It’s a project I’ve always wanted to do and a big hobby of mine. It’s for my nephews, family, friends and the general public to come see and enjoy.” When the town is finished, Parker said there are plans for the public to visit at least five times a year. He also hopes that the location could be used for filming, as a way of bringing some income to the site.
The former funeral director and staff nurse, turned part-time fictional sheriff and full-time Old West aficionado and re-enactor, is putting the finishing touches on his authentic, to-scale Old Western town that’s set to open next year. The town, called Delton Creek, is minutes away from Hartlepool and will look and feel like something straight out of the American west. Since 2009 Ged and other members of the Wild West Legends reenactment society have worked to replicate the true grit and unforgiving nature of the true west. “We’re bringing America to England - to Hartlepool,” he said. “You can see how the Wild West was. How they live down the prairie - with no television, lighting or electricity. It’s pretty damn hard to get used to, but once you do it’s very peaceful and tranquil.” There’s a fully-functional working corral with four stables, a hay and grain barn, straw barn, blacksmith, blacksmith shop, saddlers, wagon sales and repair. The town also has a Trappers store, general dealers, hardware store, a 48ft by 13ft working saloon, sheriffs office, a carpenters, cantina, dressmaker, Indian traders, school, church and of course the undertakers. Ged, 44, said: “I went to a country and western festival and I saw a lot of people dressed in Hollywood cowboy gear so I tried that. Then later on I thought, why not go entirely authentic.” Ged, from Hartlepool, is also the Secretary and founder of the Wild West Legends reenactment society, which is a group of western enthusiasts from the North East. The construction and hobby, is a release for Parker who is married and cares for his wife, who has brittle bone disease. When it comes to the western stuff, it is a massive release. I can just relax and do what I want
