DATA: the numbers and units that give life to a system, a body of facts or information PLATFORM: the system/grid that shapes the data and gives it structure and meaning MAPPING: where the platform and data combine to take shape visually SURFACE: the physical surface that the user interacts with INTERACTION: the manner in which a user can have an experience of understanding EMERGENCE: What the user gains from the experience
PLATFORM EXAMPLES: “Snowman Party” Windows 7 Snow Leopard a venue that hosts shows Any video game console

Here’s your diet
How can you explain this to someone clearly? - The easiest way to show a potential user how to use this platform would be to a show an example video of someone using the Pyramid. How does someone interact with this platform? - A user would interact this platform by using the interactive touch screen on the device while it was magnetized to their refridgerator and the Pyramid woud do the rest of the calculations. What could stem from this knowledge? - The goal of the Pyramid is to simply inform people of their dietary habits they might not notice, improve diets that might be suffering either as a group of people or a single person. Is this interaction simple and intuitive? - With the way this was designed, the interaction portion is very simple to grasp
The Pyramid The pyramid is an interactive interface that displays the user’s dietary habits, nutritious health and suggets different possibilites for an improved diet after imputing and recording your meals that you’ve eaten from the refridgerator.
Finals Data - Food eaten from the fridge Platform - The Pyramid Mapping - Color cordinated bars Surface - Screen Intereaction - Touch / Viewing Short description -The Pyamid is an interactive interface that, after inputing your recent food intake, displays your dietary habits. Long description - The Pyamid is an interactive interface that displays the user’s dietary habits, nutritious health, and suggests different possibilities for an improved diet after imputing and recording the meals hat you have eaten from the refrigerator over a given amount of time. Audience - Geared toward multiple audiences for anyone who could use a fridge in a home; from families that are watching their food intake, one single person who cares about their diet and nutrition, or a group of roommates who have one for the hell of it.

As with most other projects we’ve done this semester, this has definitely been a learning experience and a venture into new territory. The notably new things that I attempted this time were the way of thinking following a new road to problem solving and also including anything shot with a camera in anything I’ve ever done. Going through the different stages of interactive design and working from the concept on was definitely new. Most of the time, a normal step to take would be to think would I want to make an app or device out of and work out the concept around that and go from there. But this, using a creative, free way of picking seemingly unconncected things really brought out some grand ideas. After landing on what I did, going through that connecting the dots to make this work was a learning experience. Refining some of the graphic elements was difficult but came together in the end. The ending video required some technical thinking that I hadn’t done so conquering that was something that I’m glad I experienced for sure. Overall, I am happy with what I was able to accomplish with all the road blocks that faced me in the making of this project.
