Parade Entry All parade entries must be decorated for the Christmas season in some form or fashion. We prefer you relate your entry to this year’s theme “Christmas Through a Child’s Eye” but this is not required. Entries that do not relate to the Christmas season in some fashion will not be allowed in this year’s parade and your entry fee will not be refunded. Entries may not contain any type of Santa Claus. As you know, Santa always rides in the last float.
Non‐commercial Float Entry ($35.00)
Commercial Float Entry ($50.00)
Commercial Non‐float Entry ($75.00)
Auto Clubs ($35.00 for the first 6 cars, $5.00 for each additional car)
NOTE: A float is considered a flatbed vehicle on which a display has been constructed that can be pulled or may be self-propelled. All Entries must be postmarked by Monday, November 16, 2009. Late entries will be subject to a $25.00 penalty fee and will only be allowed at the Chairman’s discretion.
Please do not throw or hand out any items from your entry, including candy, food, or promotional items. Failure to follow this rule may result in your entry being removed from the parade. We are unable to keep children from running into the parade to get dropped candy and have no control over the safety or quality of the items passed out by entrants. Parade participants must be in place by 6:30 pm. Streets will be closed to all traffic at this time. The parade will start promptly at 7:00 pm. If your entry is not in place, you will not be allowed into the parade and your entry fee will not be refunded. You will receive a map and your location information in the mail before the night of the parade. We encourage you to photocopy this information and provide it to every person you have directly participating on the parade evening. This will help everyone find their way to their location in a timely and orderly fashion.
Please have a designated area for your group to meet before and after the parade in case someone in your group gets lost or separated. This year’s entry types are designed to encourage float entries. A float is considered some sort of flatbed vehicle on which a display has been constructed. Please contact this year’s parade chair if you have any doubt as to which category your entry would fall. We will be glad to help clarify what your entry would be.
Traffic Control In an attempt at alleviating traffic confusion, please look for Parade Officials to direct traffic as it arrives. Parade Officials Parade Officials will be stationed in the parade area to assist in line-up and to make this an enjoyable event. Please listen to the Parade Officials and bring any questions to them. Safety Regulations Please walk in an orderly fashion. All entries, including those with tumblers, gymnastics routines, etc. must continue moving to avoid delays. Again, do not pass out or throw anything from your parade entry. We must keep children out of the street and on the sidewalk.
